Job Description:
The Director, PMO will report directly to the CIO and will manage the planning and development of the company road map; coordinating the delivery of all projects for Gilt Groupe. The position requires an understanding of multi business functions and an ability to manage across many indirect reports. Key areas of focus include full project management, from requirements gathering and scoping, through to technology execution and business launch. The Director, PMO will also be responsible for establishing and managing the company-wide software development process; helping the company move further toward an Agile approach.

Job Duties:
• Drive tactical direction for all projects and business launches with department managers and key stakeholders.
• Create detailed road maps clearly identifying the relationships and dependencies between projects and departments using standard project management tools. Create high-level summarized versions for Executive Team.
• Identify resources necessary to accomplish project tasks and the appropriate work effort required from those resources. Direct project management team and all personnel resources necessary for the project. Monitor progress of all projects.
• Create regular project status reports to distribute to Executive Team and the organization to bring about transparency.
• Partner with multiple company departments and external team members to ensure solutions meet all business needs. Must be able to work with Technology, Operations, Product, Merchandising, Finance and Marketing departments to ensure business requirements can be properly supported.
• Assist with defining and documenting project objectives and strategic approach.
• Prepare effective written correspondence and present information in a group setting. Communicate frequently with management and business partners to clarify and resolve issues/concerns. Regularly present to executive staff.
• Manage all unplanned critical project work and partner with key departments to assess level of effort. Update team on any associated impact to road map.
• Maintain proper lines of communication across entire project team.
• Manage expectations across all departments after project scope has been agreed to. Capture and record new requirements deemed not critical for launch for future project upgrades.
• Foster increased collaboration for project development and implementation across all departments.
• Establish and manage company-wide process for all large scale new business launches leveraging industry best practices while ensuring a speedy implementation.
• Play a pivotal role educating the company on the Agile process.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years’ experience managing ecommerce website and business launches; retail experience a plus
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills
• Track record managing a team of up to 4 project managers
• Excellent presentation and meeting leader skills
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and facilitation skills
• Self-starter / self-motivated, capable of staying on track and pursuing solutions without supervision
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Willing to work extended hours to meet deadlines when required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
• Must be detail oriented
• Must be able to work independently and build strong relationships with functional team partners
