We are seeking an IT Project Manager for our Corporate office in Lancaster, New York
Responsibilities:
The IT Project Manager (PM) will oversee the development of Web-applications on a day-to-day basis and ensure that the client's specifications and needs are met. The PM will ensure that development and testing of systems are completed on time and within budget while meeting high quality standards. IT PM responsibilities include:
• Negotiating, interpreting and executing contracts/proposals
• Obtaining new or add-on work from clients
• Maintaining excellent client relationships with quick response time and clearly documented status/progress reports
• Managing projects through planning, design, development, implementation, testing, training and project closure
• Creating complete in-depth requirements
• Planning and managing project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and customer satisfaction
• Informing IT Management of over/ under allocated staff, missed target dates, potential risks and/or budgetary concerns
• Identifying issues and risks and obtaining/proposing resolution
• Recommending improvements to workflow/processes by identifying inefficiencies within IT project management and application development processes.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline; MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years overseeing web software application development projects including SharePoint in a high-tech environment
• Strong understanding of Project Management / Program Management Best Practices, and comfortable integrating them into a development/support organization
• Experience with formal project management methodologies especially Agile.
• Ability to work independently and be a strong team player
• A solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology , .Net, and databases a MUST!
• Ability to develop level of effort cost estimates, projections, proposals, and schedules.
• Initiative to further define unclear requirements and propose prototype/diagrams to help in obtaining clarity. Experience with web application architecture and design is a plus.
• Must be able to delegate work effectively
• Multi-tasking: be able to manage at least 4-5 medium sized projects at one time
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
