Responsibilities
The Director of American Express Digital Business Development will report into the newly created Band 50, Vice President of Digital Strategy and Innovation, and will be part of the American Express Interactive (AXPi) division. The Division acts as the Center of Excellence for interactive and digital technology and customer experience for American Express.
The role will also act as a Center of Excellence in staying on the cutting edge of digital technology trends and interpreting and disseminating their potential business impact across the Organization. Many of these emerging technologies will create a pipeline of opportunities to drive significant change for American Express.
The Director of American Express Digital Business Development & Innovation will partner with business units in identifying and implementing new business enhancing, technology-based approaches from the aforementioned pipeline. This pipeline could include emerging technologies such as social media, geo-based marketing, mobile as a platform, and other large impact efforts driving new revenue streams and enhanced customer engagement.
Last, the Director will partner with American Express Technologies to develop new technological processes for third party integration to speed time to market and develop a more nimble digital approach for the organization.
Required Qualifications
? Digital background required.
? Ability to distill complex digital concepts into straight forward business driving approaches

? Ability to build relationships and influence broadly across the organization.
? Strategic thought leadership
? Strong written and verbal communication skills especially at the Executive level.
? Background in business development and third party integration desired.
? Background with technology and tech delivery process desired.
? Ability to engage and inspire a team.
? MBA coupled with an Engineering or Computer Science background a plus.
This position will lead three managers.
