We?re looking for another support person to join our team. You should be passionate about customer service/support and passionate about 37signals. We?d prefer if you live in Chicago, but we?re open to someone anywhere.

We get about 250 emails a day from customers across our entire range of products. You'll be sending around 100 emails a day (we may offer phone support down the road as well). They can range from really quick answers (under a minute with a standard response or link to our Help & Support section) to more involved ones taking 5-10+ minutes (say, including screenshots).

Support works directly with programmers to resolve issues and designers to improve our products.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • You're patient and willing to teach versus instruct. You care that people learn about and get the most out of our products, whether they're customers or not.
  • You have an appetite for fixing, recommending, troubleshooting and workarounds.
  • You're great at dealing with new computer users and power-users alike.
  • You can distill the most complex issue (feedback, frustration, request or technical) into a simple and friendly email. Strong writing skills are essential.
  • You're comfortable communicating mostly through text - Campfire, email and IM.

It's a plus if you've worked in customer service and support and are already familiar with our products/company ethos.
