Job Overview: Creative, flexible and
versatile web developer to join the business incubation team at Sandbox
Industries. You will work with the team to develop early-stage businesses and
products for the web and mobile devices.
You should be comfortable working independently with little direction,
and developing software cooperatively with a team.
Responsibilities to include:
- Collaborate on strategy for various web development products
- Quickly develop prototypes for refinement and iteration, implement features and upgrades
- Write solid, well-documented code, run unit tests
- Monitor live applications; address bugs and performance issues
- Juggle a stream of ad-hoc requests, priorities and projects in a fast-pasted environment
- Handle fast-changing requirements with a minimum of frustration
- Discuss technical concepts and make decisions with people with a broad range of understanding
Our ideal candidate has all of the following qualifications and qualities:
- A track record of delivering polished software (hint: show us your portfolio)
- At least 3 years of experience
- Solid skills in PHP, Ruby and/or Python
- Mastery of MVC, databases, SQL
- Familiarity with distributed version control systems
- Fluency in XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Web standards, browser quirks
- Comfortable with Linux administration, bash
- Motivated to independently explore new technologies
