Job Overview
You will build and lead a team responsible for insights into user experience and understanding of monetization metrics across Gazillion’s products. You will have a high degree of autonomy collaborating across various game teams and business groups to improve product effectiveness and P&L results.
In this role, you will be responsible for expanding Gazillion’s analytics and insights framework to understand player activity and subscriber metrics such as play patterns, monetization, churn retention, campaign optimization and funnel economics. You should have a solid background in good engineering practices and a track record of putting together realistic plans and executing against them efficiently. You will manage and directly contribute to researching, developing, implementing, and improving methods and algorithms to tackle challenging statistical and mathematical problems found in our games.
Your primary technology focus will be to design and lead the implementation of Gazillion’s reporting data stores and the flows of activity data that populate them. You must also have a good eye for web and UI design along with deep experience with A/B multivariate testing. Aspects of this role will also require an understanding of advertising operations and campaign management as you will work closely with Gazillion’s marketing team.
Exceptional leadership, “can-do” attitude, and project management skills are essential. Good communication skills across disciplines are important for the candidate to succeed in our dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Augment and further architect Gazillion’s player and monetization insights engine
Collaborate across Gazillion’s various engineering and business groups to develop testing technologies, analytics and coding standards
Own the design of the data warehouse data storage and ETL techniques and strategies
Monitor and analyze all performance data to ensure success metrics are achieved
Supervise recruitment, training, retention, and organization of a team of world-class engineers, developers, and analysts
Qualifications
7+ years experience leading and managing a team of engineers
Demonstrated strong decision making- strategic and critical thinking ability
Experience in high volume consumer web or games space
Knowledge in technical aspects of business intelligence including data modeling, tools, relational database management systems, ETL, metadata / data management, and OLAP tools
Experience with A/B Testing and web analytics methodologies
Strong verbal and written communications
Good Knowledge of relational databases, My SQL, SQL Server
MS in Operations Research, Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
Pluses
· Familiarity with machine learning and data mining techniques
· Previous experience working at a face-pace start-up
· Experience with Agile development processes
· Familiarity with data-intensive distributed technology such as Hadoop/HBase, BigTable or similar data service
