The Mechanism is a multi-disciplinary design agency with offices in New York, London and Durban. For nearly a decade, The Mechanism has provided web and brand development to a diverse range of clients from SMEs, small-cap public companies and Fortune 500s to Heineken, VH1 and Flight of the Conchords.
We are immediately seeking a creative, confident and professional Developer for our NYC office. The successful candidate will have 3+ years experience in web development (primarily Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) delivering complex, bespoke web applications.
The ideal candidate is seeking an opportunity to extend their skills with a talented development team while gaining experience producing mission-critical, enterprise-level technical solutions within a range of web application genres. In addition to their natural programming flair and enthusiasm for web-standards development, the successful candidate will have an aggressively results-driven attitude, and a strong commercial sensibility and excellent communication skills.

- Experience with the CodeIgniter framework
- Experience with the Prototype Javascript library (legacy projects)
