Getaroom.com is looking for a few solid Ruby developers to work on contract for the next 4-6 months with our small team of seasoned developers with the possibility of a full-time position. We?re looking to find people who care about their code and have a solid track record delivering it.
Getaroom.com is just over a year old and making a significant impact in the hotel segment of online travel.
Your skills would be described as one of the following:
1. API Guru skilled in the art of integrating with systems of varying levels of quality. You can design and build APIs consumed by third parties and connect to other APIs using SOAP and REST. You are experienced in asynchronous techniques using Delayed Job and message queues.
2. Web Rockstar that can jump onto existing web applications to implement features, fix issues and refactor code. You are skilled in model design, controller construction and you're fanatical about doing things the Rails way.
You don't need 50+ technologies to join our team but there are a few must-haves:
* You are a seasoned Ruby/Ruby on Rails developer with previous full-time Rails experience.
* You are accustomed to Agile methodologies and test-driven development.
We have a few other soft requirements -- you are a good fit for our team (communications, attitude, plays nicely with others) and you have an open mind when it comes to crafting solutions. We're looking for creative thinkers.
There are always technologies that are helpful to know, some of them are:
Rails, Capistrano, Chef, SQL, Git, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Ajax, RESTful APIs, Mongo DB, Linux, Nginx, Haproxy.
We are located in Dallas, Texas but the right person can spend time in the office getting up to speed and work remotely for the most part.
