Using NumberFour, YOUR business has the business tools, controls and intelligence at hand, that will rival those of large corporations fast, easy, and affordable. Located in the heart of Berlin, NumberFour is the latest venture of successful entrepreneur Marco Boerries. NumberFour builds on the foundation laid by Marcos previous products: OpenOffice (office suite), StarMoney (finance management), and Yahoo! Go (mobile internet). We are building an open platform for business application development that will create a new ecosystem for verticalized, innovative business applications.
Software Engineer, Business Platform
NumberFour is looking for software engineers with a strong passion to work in this revolutionary new platform. You will be working with a team of experienced engineers in developing our business platform. You will work with the team to design and develop libraries, services and APIs which enable and accelerate the development of application on our platform.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop libraries, services and API for the business platform.
* Ensure the reliability, scalability and efficiency of platform components.
* Provide assistance to our developer community over email, chat and other channels.
* Learn and apply business concepts as part of the platform.
* Code primarily in Scala and/or JavaScript.
* Conduct design and code reviews.
* Work in a dynamic team oriented environment using agile methodologies.
Requirements
* B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
* Experience developing and debugging in Scala and/or Java.
* Understanding of object-oriented design, functional programming, data structures, and algorithms.
* Understanding of the concepts in developing and deploying large-scale web infrastructure and distributed systems.
* Understanding of business concepts and practices. Knowledge of JavaScript and/or Python a plus.
* Strong English communication skills.
* Ability to quickly learn and apply new ideas.
