Pre-Sales Job Description

�         Responsible for leveraging data warehouse technical and business knowledge to promote sales of business intelligence solutions and professional services across multiple industries.

�         Demonstrated leadership qualities including a proven track record of gaining the respect of multiple business and technical constituencies.  Able to balance business and technical requirements for BI implementations.

Job Duties (including but not limited to)

�         Articulate Claraview's and Teradata's business intelligence-focused solutions to business problems via sales presentations, proposals, demonstrations, and webinars.

�         Assist with account qualification by utilizing knowledge of technical solutions, data models, data volumes, and typical business questions across a variety of industries.

�         Become a trusted advisor to the customer's decision-makers by establishing credibility and expertise in business intelligence systems and architecture.

�         Generate interest with decision-makers that leads to follow-on meetings and advancement of the sales process.

�         Provide direct and substantial support of the team's revenue and margin objectives by working with sales teams and partner organizations to develop and execute winning sales strategies.

�         Demonstrate ability to relate business problems to the underlying data and the ability of business intelligence technologies to solve the business problems.

�         Determine reporting, data, and technical requirements for business intelligence applications within a specific industry and translate them into reports, scorecards, and dashboards for solution development in a business intelligence application such as MicroStrategy, Cognos, Business Objects, or Microsoft.

�         Create new solution templates for consultants to implement at customer sites, including detailed technical documentation of entity and attribute definitions, report layouts, mappings of KPIs and reports to fields in the reporting data model, ETL specifications, and implementation methodology.

�         Create demand for business intelligence solutions and professional services via development of sales and marketing collateral, including solution demonstrations, presentations, white papers, and customer brochures to showcase solution value for sales and marketing opportunities.
Education and/or Experience

�         Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline

�         3-5 years technical experience in designing, implementing and deploying business intelligence applications across a variety of database platforms and BI toolsets

�         1 - 2 years of BI-related project management, sales, or marketing experience

Competencies

�         Able to balance business and technical requirements for BI implementations.

�         Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Able to summarize and communicate complex information to multiple audiences.

�         Able to work with minimal direction or as part of a team.

�         Ability to travel
